di∙gel Offers Clean, Free Public Restrooms to Help New Yorkers “Undo” Black Friday Shopping Troubles
To alleviate some of the discomfort from Thanksgiving meals and Black Friday lineups, di∙gel hosted a “Comfort Zone” providing free, clean restrooms to shoppers in downtown Manhattan on Friday, November 23. According to Accenture’s Holiday Shopping Survey, 53% of U.S. consumers plan to shop on Black Friday, reversing a three-year trend of declining interest in Black Friday deals. The volume of shoppers makes finding a clean restroom in New York City that much harder on Black Friday.
The “di∙gel Comfort Zone” opened to New York City shoppers from 6 a.m. – 12 p.m. on the east sidewalk of 5th Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets and provided clean, free restrooms, a heated tent, phone charging stations, comfortable seating and more than 2,000 samples of di∙gel to weary Black Friday shoppers.
“Given the recent events in New York City, we thought this was the right time to host this event, support local businesses and make Black Friday shoppers a little more comfortable,” said Bernie Kropfelder, EVP and General Manager OTC , ILEX Consumer Products Group.
The di∙gel campaign, which launched with the brand tagline, “When you overdo, Undo”, highlights the various triggers that lead all of us to overdo it at times, such as overeating and stress, among other things. “We all over do it at times and we often pay for it with an upset stomach. di∙gel is the solution for when that catches up with you,” continued Kropfelder.
di∙gel is a fast-acting, all-in-one solution for consumers in need of digestive relief. The fast relief is due in part to the product’s dual benefit of having both an anti-gas and antacid use.
